Are there age requirements for FIGO pet insurance?
FIGO will insure any cat or dog that is at least 8 weeks old. They have no upper age limits. However, if you are renewing a policy for a dog that is 8 years or older, or a dog that is 10 years or older, it is recommended that you follow your veterinarian’s advice regarding senior wellness testing.
Does my pet have to be spayed or neutered to enroll in FIGO pet insurance?
Your pet does not need to be spayed or neutered in order to enroll in FIGO pet insurance. Your coverage is not affected, regardless of whether your dog has been spayed or neutered. However, please note that FIGO does not cover spaying or neutering.
Can I visit any veterinarian?
Yes, you can visit any licensed veterinarian, worldwide. This includes specialists and emergencies.
What is a pre-existing condition?
A pre-existing condition is any injury or illness whose symptoms were showing before the start of your pet’s policy, or during a relevant waiting period. When it comes to insurance, a condition is considered pre-existing whether it’s been officially diagnosed or treated; all that matters is when the symptoms first started. FIGO determines pre-existing conditions based on the last 12 months of your pet’s medical history.
How do you determine a pre-existing condition?
FIGO evaluates your pet’s medical history during the claim process to determine if the condition existed within 12 months prior to your enrollment or within the subsequent waiting period.
Can I get insurance for multiple pets under one policy?
Yes, you can. FIGO offers a 5% discount when you enroll multiple pets under one policy.
